It was the icing on the cake that would make Bushapos;s career as one of the most embarrassing moments in U.S. History. I wonder, however, if one of "the culprits of the collapse" saw the footage of the U.S. Invasion of Iraq years earlier and thought, Why shouldnapos;t I be guilty of the same hubris? But instead of the hubris of pride, why shouldnapos;t I be guilty of the hubris of greed? The green eyes of envy open once again as numbers of Americans are outraged not only because they lost their homes but also because they would spend 700 billion dollars in taxes to save the asses of those very people who got them there in the first place. The end has just begun. From now on, it seems, the government will watch over the activities of Wall Street more closely but the damage has been done and it would take an enormous amount of will power and intellect of the next U.S. President to control it. Itapos;s a scary scene. People talk of simply putting their hard-earned money under the bed like in the Dark Ages but that just wonapos;t work for me once the recession hits this country because my neighbor, frankly speaking, is a pathological thief. Some local commentators even say that itapos;s time to go nuclear once and for all which is a positive outcome of this catastrophe. Itapos;s funny though that our very own Madame President who is fond of bragging about her degree in economics didnapos;t see this coming, but thatapos;s just asking for too much, isnapos;t it? Not to worry becuase the safety valves of the system have been opened and the economy will be back on its feet in no time. Besides, vested interests are involved who would do everything in their power to protect their share of the stakes, and there are those who will feel cheated by this event enough to seek vindication one way or another. The capitalist system must evolve or face extinction and heroes will emerge out of the new order. Even now scientists are burning the midnight oil to come up with equations that would articulate the intricate idiosyncracies of this system and maybe even reduce them to their barest essentials. Iapos;ve consulted some of the simple folk of my town about it but theyapos;re absolutely clueless about whatapos;s going on. Hereapos;s to hoping that they will never have to find out.
